What is N-up PDF?
N-up PDF places either two or four source pages on each new US Letter sheet. Two-up uses two side-by-side cells; four-up uses a two-by-two grid. Source pages stay in order and are scaled proportionally to fit with an eight-point inset on each cell edge.
This is compact sheet layout, not booklet imposition. It does not reorder pages for folding, add crop marks, duplex instructions, gutters, or printer finishing settings.
