Sign PDF

Add your signature image to a PDF page — locally, without an eSign service.

What is Sign PDF?

Sign PDF places one PNG or JPEG signature image on one selected PDF page. You control the page, horizontal position, vertical position from the bottom, and image width as a percentage of page width.

This is an image-stamping tool, not a certificate-based digital-signature or e-signature service. It does not verify identity, create a cryptographic signature, request consent, timestamp activity, or produce an audit trail.

Why Use This Tool?

A visible signature image can be convenient when a workflow accepts a manually placed mark and does not require managed electronic-signature evidence.

  • Place a prepared PNG or JPEG signature
  • Choose a single page
  • Adjust position and relative width
  • Keep the PDF and image in the browser

How Does This Tool Work?

Upload the PDF and signature image, select a valid page, and adjust the sliders. The image is embedded in the PDF and drawn at the chosen page-relative coordinates while preserving its aspect ratio.

The current controls allow x and y positions from 0% to 90% and width from 5% to 60%. Placement is coordinate-based and has no visual drag preview.

Understanding Your Results

The downloaded PDF contains a visible image. Its presence does not prove who placed it, when it was placed, whether the signer consented, or whether the document changed later.

Why Tracking This Matters

Signature requirements vary by transaction, organization, and jurisdiction. If identity, intent, integrity, certificates, timestamps, or audit evidence matter, use an appropriate signing system and obtain legal guidance.

Benefits of Using Sign PDF

  • Supports PNG and JPEG images
  • Preserves image aspect ratio
  • Page-relative sizing and placement
  • Does not upload the document
  • Creates a separate stamped copy
  • Makes no false certificate claim

How Is the Result Calculated?

Image width equals page width times the selected width ratio. Height is calculated from the image’s original aspect ratio.

Draw height = image height ÷ image width × draw width

Draw width
Selected fraction of the PDF page width.
Image dimensions
The source PNG or JPEG pixel aspect ratio.

Tips for Better Results

  • Use a tightly cropped signature image.
  • Prefer transparent PNG when a clean background matters.
  • Check the selected page before downloading.
  • Keep signature image files secure.
  • Use a qualified signing platform when audit evidence is required.
  • Review the final PDF at normal zoom.

Conclusion

Sign PDF is appropriate for placing a visible signature image when that is all the workflow requires. It is not identity verification or certificate signing, so use a dedicated e-signature or digital-signature platform for higher-assurance transactions.

FAQ

Is this a cryptographic digital signature?expand_more

No. It embeds a visible image and does not sign document bytes with a certificate.

Does it create an audit trail?expand_more

No. There is no signer request, identity verification, timestamp, or activity log.

Is the result legally binding?expand_more

The tool cannot determine legal effect. Requirements depend on facts and jurisdiction; seek appropriate advice.

Which image formats are supported?expand_more

PNG and JPEG files are supported.

Can I sign multiple pages at once?expand_more

No. The implementation places one image on one selected page per output.

Can I draw a signature in the tool?expand_more

No. Upload an existing PNG or JPEG signature image.

Does the tool prove the PDF was not changed later?expand_more

No. An image stamp provides no cryptographic integrity verification.

Are the PDF and signature image uploaded?expand_more
